On Friday February 1st the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Chi Beta Omega Chapter located in Falls Church, Virginia will join millions in the fight against heart disease for women during National Wear Red Day. Heart disease is the leading cause of death of American women, killing more than one third of the population. Upwards of 42 million women currently live with some form of cardiovascular disease. [1] More specifically, 5.8% of all white women, 7.6% of black women, and 5.6% of Mexican American women are currently living with coronary heart disease. [2] Please help Chi Beta Omega support this very important cause by wearing red on Friday February 1st to show your awareness of heart disease and it’s impact on the female population.
