Falls Church High senior Brooke Bean joined thousands of other athletes from around the country who let their college destinations known on National Letter of Intent day.

Bean, joined by her parents Robin and William Bean inside the school Wednesday morning, signed her letter to attend George Washington University where she will play soccer. Bean received both athletic and academic scholarships from the university.

“I have loved being a part of FCHS and wouldn’t go anywhere else if given the choice,” Bean said in a release. “I’m proud to be a Jaguar and I love the atmosphere here.  I’m looking forward to going on to be a part of the GW women’s program.”

In the classroom, Bean has maintained a 4.1 GPA and has consistently appeared on the school’s honor roll list. Bean made the All-District team each of her high school seasons. She also made the Regional Honorable Mention team in 2010 and the All-Region team in 2011, the All-Met team in 2011, and was the Co-District Player of the Year for 2011.

Bean plans to major in communications.

Congratulations Brooke! Grandma asked me to print out a few copies of this so she can send it to her sisters bragging about her granddaughter. GWU is going to be an excellent school; and I know Mom is very happy it is close enough she can come and watch your games. Great work with soccer and school we are all very proud! - PJ
