The weather will be warm this weekend but there are a couple things going on in Falls Church that may be of interest to you.
Here’s what’s going on:
1 – The City of Falls Church will host a community meeting Saturday at the Columbia Baptist Church from 9 to 11 a.m. to talk about the South Washington Street Small Area Plan. The meeting will help city staff determine community desires for development and redevelopment within the planning area.
2 – Volunteers can help plant shrubs, grass and flowering perennials in the new rain gardens of Lincoln Park on Sunday between 1 and 5 p.m. Kids can enjoy a special “Story Time” by Jeanette Stewart of Lands and Waters. Follow the link for details.
3 - It is now peak produce season, which means the Falls Church City Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday with over 40 vendors filling the City Hall parking lot.
4 – The State Theatre will host the Legwarmers 80’s dance party Friday and Saturday with doors opening at 8 p.m. and tickets starting at $18.
5 – If your birthday is June 22, you share it with the late “60 Minutes” reporter Ed Bradley, rocker Cyndi Lauper and NFL Super Bowl quarterback Kurt Warner. Happy birthday!
