Downed trees were seen all over Falls Church Saturday after a power storm blew through the area.

Le-Ha Anderson said Falls Church is amongst the hardest areas affected by power outages.

Anderson, spokeswoman with Dominion Power, said the City of Falls Church has 4,858 people without power and Fairfax County has 237,654 customers without power. Work crews are accessing the damage and don’t have an estimated timeframe for when power will be restored.

“We have crews that have been out since last night,” Anderson said. “We’re not sure how long it will be before power is restored.”

Storms blew through Northern Virginia Friday night leaving a path of downed trees and power lines behind. Anderson said 450,000 Dominion customers in Northern Virginia are without power.

Steven Bruno woke up Saturday morning to find part of his neighbor’s tree down and partially covering his car. Bruno said he moved to Falls Church a year ago from the Atlanta area and has never seen destruction like what he saw from this storm.

“We were home the whole night and didn’t hear anything,” Bruno said outside his West Marshall Street home. “I didn’t hear the tree fall at all.”

the images are more shocking as in the idiocy around them not the destruction. people near downed power lines, walking on down trees.. not walking around the rubble, standing near trees leaning on electric lines and more.. yes the mentality of falls church is "moronic"
