Sewage Leak Closes Falls Church School for Second Day

Work crews still repairing leak at the school.

Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School will be closed again Thursday, the second day it has had to shut down because of a sewage leak at the school.

Work crews will work through Wednesday night to repair the leak and a cut power line in a sinkhole on the side of the school. Officials detected the sinkhole and outside sewage leak around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The school suffered a similar sewage leak in October, which also closed school for one day.
