Wings Soaring to New Heights

Homemade honey-bourbon chicken wings great for anytime.

Hello everyone and welcome to Andre Taylor’s Tasty Tidbits!

Today I am going to share my recipe for honey-bourbon chicken wings that you bake (or grill if you’re in the mood). These wings are great for parties or just lounging around the house on a weekend.

Most of the ingredients for this meal you can find in your kitchen cabinets and if not, here’s what you will need:

2 pounds of chicken wing parts

2 tablespoons of season salt

1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

(For the sauce)

6 tablespoons of honey

1 tablespoon of bourbon

1 tablespoon of pineapple juice

1 teaspoon of ground ginger

Ok, now that you have the ingredients, let’s get cooking!

In a large Ziploc bag, mix the season salt, cayenne pepper and garlic powder. Once you have that mixed together, put it off to the side and let’s get to the sauce.

In a large bowl, mix the honey, bourbon, ginger and pineapple juice with a whisker. Whisk the mixture until it has an even, smooth consistency. Let the sauce sit off to the side until you are ready to shake the wings up in the mix.

Let’s come back to the sauce later.

Before seasoning the chicken wings, make sure you rinse them well. Once you have rinsed and drained most of the water off of them, place them into the Ziploc bag and shake the up well until the wings are coated with the seasoning.

Once the wings are coated with the seasoning, set the oven to 425 degrees. Place the chicken wings on an ungreased cookie sheet and place them into the oven for 15-20 minutes. Once the wings are done, place them into the bowl with the sauce and shake the wings up in the sauce until they are well coated.

If you try this recipe, take a picture and email me at andre.taylor@patch.com and let me know how it turned out. If you have another recipe you want to share with me, send that along.

Until then, keep on burnin’!
