Marshall High School
is excited to have participated in the pilot LifeSmarts FBLA competition. The
National Consumers League created the program LifeSmarts for the use of other
nonprofit organizations as a fun and rewarding tool to develop the consumer and
marketplace knowledge and skills of teenagers.
Instead of the typical 5 player team, the competition consisted of a 2 person team that tested their Personal Finance and Consumer Rights & Responsibilities Knowledge. In order to compete, students had to each take 3 rounds of individual testing, and then 2 collaborative tests on the aforementioned topics. Out of the 4 teams that competed from Marshall, 3 of them placed within the top 20 – one team placing 4th in the nation, Team FBLA TrapCity – Ben Bowie and Ryan Barrett. This team will compete in the National Competition next summer in Anaheim, California.
Go Marshall!
