Donate School Supplies to Kids in Need, Sunset Cinema, and National Dog Day

Help Send Kids Back to School: The City of Falls Church Housing and Human Services is accepting donations of new school supplies for Middle and High School students through Friday. For more information, click here.

Sunset Cinema: The City of Falls Church Recreation and Parks Department presents Sunset Cinema at Cherry Hill Park this Friday. This week's movie is Hotel Transylvania. Moviegoers are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics to watch three family movies under the stars. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase. Last Chance to Submit Entries to the Fairfax County Library Essay and Poetry Contest: Rising 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students are eligible to enter the Fairfax County Library Essay and Poetry Contest. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners. Those interested should act fast — the deadline is Aug. 31. 

Celebrate National Dog Day at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter: Bring the family to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and meet shelter volunteers and adoptable pets. The shelter will offer fee-waived adoptions on dogs and puppies Saturday and Sunday.  Click here for more information.
