Alternatives to street parking?

Does anyone know if any public or private parking lots/garages are made available for parking during a snow emergency?

Metro has their garages open, why don't you use it? It was built to house auto of the users of Metro. Street parking is usually reserved for residences to use. Why would you bring an auto into someone else's neighborhood to park when you are not visiting a person in said neighborhood? How would you like an unknown car in your neighborhood and wonder what crimes will be associated with any of the unknown autos? If you are using the Metro, then park at the station, otherwise you are evading the residential areas and forcing the residents to find other parking, shame on you. Ride the bus to the Metro and save the parking for those that need it, the residences.
