At Least 20 Falls Church Kids Will Have New School Supplies

School supply donation drive best in city's recent history.

In a few short days, between 20 and 25 City of Falls Church middle and high school students will head back to classes with new school supplies.

The city’s Housing and Human Services department’s was the most successful in recent history. Students will receive gift cards or new supplies like notebooks, pens, and backpacks, as well as personal essentials like deodorant and tissues.

“People may not realize that there are families in need, even in our seemingly affluent community,” Nancy Vincent, director of HHS said in a written statement. “We truly appreciate the generosity of everyone who donated.”

Residents can still donate to the Falls Church City Public Schools Family Assistance Fund. The program provides school supplies, holiday gifts, and meals to city families with at least one school age child. Donations can be made payable to the "Falls Church Schools Administrative Fund" with a notation at the bottom designating the Family Assistance Fund. Please mail to:
