Falls Church City Holiday Decoration Contest Nominations Due Thursday

Falls Church residents can win $250 for their home holiday decorations by entering the first Falls Church City Christmas Decoration Contest. The contest is sponsored by Leslie Hutchison, a realtor at Fall Properties.
The second place winners can win $150 and third place wins $100. Contestants can enter their decorations in several themes like:

• RELIGIOUS (best display with a religious theme)
• NOSTALGIC (most old-fashioned, best reminds-me-of-my-childhood display)
• CLARK GRISWOLD (excessive use of outdoor lighting and decoration)
• INSIDE-OUT (indoor displays that are visible from the street)
• ANYTHING GOES (no specific theme, but WOW)
• MARTHA STEWART WOULD BE PROUD
• CHARLIE BROWNIEST (for the best decorations on a doghouse, tool shed, barn, outhouse… anything but your home)

All homes with a Falls Church address are welcome to participate. Homeowners must register by filling out this entry form or be “nominated” by an admirer in order to be judged. All entries must be received by 3 p.m., Dec. 15. Judging will take place the evening of Sunday, Dec. 18, so have your lights on as soon as it’s dark!

Homes will be judged based on curbside appeal only. Judges will not enter the property. No information supplied will be used for purposes other than this contest. Winners will be announced on Monday, Dec. 19 on www.VirginiaHomeTeam.com.
