Falls Church Gearing up for Watch Night

New Years Eve celebration now in its 14th year in the 'Little City.'

For the 14th year, the City of Falls Church will celebrate a new year at Watch Night.

This year’s theme chosen theme is “Big Night in the Little City.”

There will be food and fun for the entire family and several performing acts will be on hand to provide entertainment including: cover bands Sudden M Pac and Rites of Ash; spoon and antique instrument performer Cowboy Haye; Andrew Acosta and His Old Time String Band; and Northern Lights Orchestra.

All activities will be near the intersection of Broad and Washington streets and begin Saturday at 7 p.m. and go through midnight, just after the lowering of the City of Falls Church Star welcomes in 2012.

A free shuttle bus will stop at each Watch Night venue as well as the East Falls Church Metro station throughout the night.

The City of Falls Church, the Falls Church Economic Development Authority, the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce, the Village Preservation and Improvement Society and Atlantic Realty sponsor this year’s Watch Night; the Founding Sponsor is the Tinner Hill Heritage Foundation.
