Falls Church Weather on Wednesday: How Long Will Freezing Weather Stick Around?

And when will temperatures get above freezing?

Historically low freezing cold temperatures, courtesy of a "polar vortex," closed schools Tuesday in the City of Falls Church and Fairfax County. What will the weather be like the next 24 hours?

Here's what The Weather Channel is saying about Falls Church weather Tuesday night into Wednesday afternoon:

Tuesday evening: From 6 p.m. to midnight, temperatures will hover between 17 degrees and 12 degrees. After midnight, the temperature stays at 12 degrees clear through to 6 a.m. The National Weather Service says the low temperature Tuesday night will be 6 degrees.

Wednesday morning: At 7 a.m., the temperature in Falls Church will be 12 degrees. It will slowly warm up to 25 degrees by 12 noon. From 1-5 p.m. temperatures warm up just a bit more, to just under freezing, at 30 degrees.

Temperatures will crack the freezing point on Thursday, with highs expected to be in the high 30s.

No word Tuesday afternoon on whether schools will be closed or delayed on Wednesday. Loudoun County announced they will be open; Stafford County announced they will be on a two-hour delay.
