FIVE THINGS: Get Your Hazardous Waste Together for Saturday

Just a couple more days before the city's street paving project is done.

1-    The City of Falls Church is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection on Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. through 1 p.m. at the Falls Church Recycling Center and Property Yard at 217 Gordon Rd. Click here to see what items are considered hazardous.

2-    The City of Falls Church Historical Commission will meet tonight at 7:30 in the Oak Room in City Hall.

3-    Through Sept. 27, the city will be repaving streets as well as replacing sections of sidewalks, curbs, and gutters. The work will take place weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A tentative schedule of timing and locations is here.

4-    The City of Falls Church Recreation and Parks Department fall brochure is now available and residents can register for a variety of classes and activities for all ages.

5-    If you are celebrating a birthday on Sept. 25, you share it with actor Will Smith, star of Superman the late Christopher Reeve and actor Michael Douglas. Happy birthday!
