FIVE THINGS: See What's Closed for Labor Day

Have a great Labor Day!

1-    The Falls Church Community Center, the Senior Center, and the Library will be closed in observance of Labor Day, as well as City Hall, Courts, DMV Select, Falls Church City Public Schools and the Sheriff's Office will also be closed for the holiday. All offices reopen on Tuesday.

2-    City council will not meet tonight. They will next meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 4 for a joint session with the Planning Commission.

3-    On Sept. 8, City of Falls Church residents can bring their hard to recycle items to the Recycling Center for the bi-annual Recycling Extravangaza. Paper shredding will also be offered at this fall's event.

4-    Remember to get your vote in for the City of Falls Church Farmers Market in this year's race to find America's Favorite Farmers Market! Polls are open until midnight.

5-    If you are celebrating a birthday today, you share it with actor Charlie Sheen, NBA coach Dick Motta and creator of the Volkswagen Beetle, Ferdinand Porsche. Happy birthday!
