Falls Church Memorial Day Festival Guide

Heading to the Memorial Day Parade and Festival in Falls Church? Here is some information you'll need to know.

Rain or shine, thousands are expected to attend the 32nd Annual Memorial Day Parade and Festival on Monday at City Hall in Falls Church.

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Memorial Day, there will be food, music, rides and the day will be capped off by the parade. Led down Park Avenue by Co-Grand Marshals, City of Falls Church crossing guards Audrey Luthman and Janet Haines, the parade kicks off at 2 p.m.

Here is the schedule of events for the day:

·       9 a.m.: Don Beyer Volvo 3K Fun Run (Click here for a route map)

·       9 a.m. – Noon: Lions Club Eye Van (free testing)

·       10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Tours of 163-Year-Old Cherry Hill Farmhouse

·       11 a.m.: Veterans Ceremony - Those who have served in the armed forces will be honored at a Veterans Ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial in front of the Community Center (223 Little Falls St.). Terry Shima, a WWII veteran who served in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, will give the keynote address.

·       12:15 p.m.: City of Falls Church Concert Band (on stage)

·       2 p.m.: The Memorial Day Parade will start down its route along Park Avenue.
