Keeping Cool With Lemonade in Falls Church
Andrew Connelly set up a lemonade stand in front of his house to keep neighbors and passers by cool Friday.
At noon The Washington Post reported that the Washington D.C. region's heat index made it feel like 111 degrees.
That didn't stop Andrew Connelly from setting up the classic summer time side of the road lemonade stand in front of his house. Equipped with an umbrella and plenty of change for his $.50 cent lemonade cups, the young entrepreneur scooped ice and made small talk with friends thirsty for lemonade.
"I've got more where that came from," said Connelly, a 12-year-old middle schooler at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School, as he served one of his friends passing by on a bike.
