Falls Church Golf Company Celebrates Return of Football Season

With the new "In The Zone" cup, golfers can show their love of the gridiron, even while on the golf course.

Football season is officially back, and it has even caught the attention of the local golf community.

Tin Cup, a Falls Church-based golf company, has released a new ball-marker (also called a “cup”) this month named “In The Zone.” The cup, which fits perfectly around the outside of a golf ball, features a football stencil to be filled in on the golf ball in the cup, turning the design into a personalized ball-marking.

Cabell Fooshe, spokesman for Tin Cup, said the company tries to release a new seasonal stencil every month, and felt the football design was perfect for September. Fooshe noted that sales of the new “In The Zone” cup are off to a strong start in the brief time since the design was released.

The name is meant to combine the worlds of golf and football alike (players score touchdowns in football by carrying the ball into the end zone, which is where the name originated.

“We like to use a name that’s both relevant to the design and will make players feel better about their game,” Fooshe said.
