Memorial Day 2013: What's Open, Closed in Falls Church

Making Memorial Day weekend plans? If you're staying here in the city and greater Falls Church area, here's what you need to know about what's open and what's closed on Memorial Day 2013 and throughout the weekend.

According to the City of Falls Church government:

City Government, the Sheriffs Office, Senior Center and Falls Church City Public Schools – Closed

Mary Riley Styles Public Library – Closed Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27

Falls Church Community Center – Open until 5 p.m. Monday, May 27

According to the Fairfax County government: 

County Government – Closed.
Courts – Closed.

Public Schools and School Offices – Closed.

Libraries – Closed Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27.

Fairfax Connector – Operating Sunday schedule on Monday, May 27. Routes with Sunday service operate according to the Sunday schedule. Routes without Sunday service will not operate.

Fastran – Not in service.

Park Authority – RECenters will open on regular schedule and close at 6 p.m., except George Washington RECenter, which will be closed. Nature centers open noon to 5 p.m.; historic sites open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Frying Pan Farm Park open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; visitor center closed. Green Spring Gardens open noon to 4:30 p.m.; historic house closed.

Teen and Senior Centers – Closed.

Community Centers – Closed.

County Trash and Recycling Collection – Regular collection.

Recycling and Disposal Facilities at I-66 Transfer Station and I-95 Landfill Complex – Open.
