UPDATE: Falls Church Water Service Restored After Water Main Break

UPDATE 7:12 p.m.: Falls Church Water restored service to more than 80 customers who were without water following a water main break around 5 p.m.

The water main break, on Idylwood Road, caused traffic problems while work crews repaired the break. The street should be repaired by 7:30 p.m.

5:32 p.m.: More than 80 Falls Church Water customers are temporarily without water after a 10-inch cast iron pipe cracked in Idylwood Road today around 5 p.m.

Work crews are working on the pipe and service should be restored this evening.

Traffic along Idylwood Road is down to one lane near the break.
