General Election Absentee Voting Begins Today

Registered voters can start submitting their absentee ballots starting today through Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. for the General Election on Nov. 8.

Voters can bring their ballots to the Office of Voter Registration & Elections in City Hall. The office will be open for in-person absentee voting the two Saturday’s before the election (Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

Ballots must be received by 5 p.m. on Nov. 1.

The City of Falls Church General Election will be held on Nov. 8. On the ballot will be contests for Senate District 35, House District 53, Commonwealth’s Attorney, and a referendum for a Proposed Charter Amendment.

All citizens who will be 18 years old on or before Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, are eligible to register and vote in this election.  Applicants may download an application to register at www.fallschurchva.gov/vote or visit the Office of Voter Registration & Elections at 300 Park Ave., Falls Church, VA 22046 or by calling 703-248-5085.

 

Rain Postpones Public Utilities Open House

With rain in the forecast for Sept. 24, the City of Falls Church has decided to postpone their Public Utilities Open House. The event is rescheduled for Oct. 1 and will still be held at the city’s property yard.

 

City Police to Hold Rape Aggression Defense Class

City of Falls Church police are offering a free Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) class Nov. 1, 2, 8 and Nov. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the . Participants must attend all four classes. Classes are open to women 12-years-old and older.
