Video: Northern Virginia Rally for Green Transportation Choices

They stretched from the Dunn Loring Community Park to the Dunn Loring Metro Station on Saturday morning, some on foot and some on bike but all for the same purpose: a call to move beyond roads in favor of more public transit, more bike lanes and more sidewalks.

The rally, a celebration of the Moving Planet International Day of Action, advocated for more transportation options to "reduce congestion and help move Northern Virginia beyond oil." It also included several speakers, from local politicians like 35th District Del. Mark Keam, to Andy Clarke of the League of American Cyclists, to representatives from Smart Growth America, the Sierra Club and Labors' International Union of North America.
