Get your umbrellas ready.

Mild temperatures and sunny skies on Saturday will likely give way to buckets of rain and chillier temperatures come Sunday, according to several weather forecasts for Northern Virginia.

The Capital Weather Gang of The Washington Post says there is a 70 percent chance of rain Sunday, from morning to mid-day and it may last until sunset. The National Weather Service predicts a 100 percent chance of rain, with three-quarters to an inch of rain falling mainly between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Temperatures Sunday are expected to reach a high of 46 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The Capital Weather Gang is predicting lower temperatures for the area Sunday, with highs around 40 to mid-40 degrees especially while it's raining.

The wet weather should be all gone by Tuesday, New Year's Eve; National Weather Service forecasters are calling for a clear sunny day, followed by clear skies Tuesday evening. But you'll want to bundle up. Highs Tuesday will be 36 degrees and lows will be in the 20s.

The average high for the DC area in December is 47 degrees.
