Falls Church Restaurant Gives Back to ChildFund

New Orleans Cajun Seafood is donating 10 percent of food sales on Tuesdays to ChildFund International.

A local restaurant is supporting needy children all over the globe. 

Every Tuesday, New Orleans Cajun Seafood donates 10 percent of food proceeds each Tuesday to ChildFund International, an organization helping children and families in 30 countries. 

Owners Khann and Sherry Nguyen currently sponsor five children, but wanted to use their business to help support more children in need by providing basic necessities and an education to children.

ChildFund is a sponsorship organization that helps children and families in 30 countries. By sponsoring a child, New Orleans Cajun Seafood will help provide the child with basic necessities and an education.

Sherry Nguyen has a background in nonprofit finance. She is passionate about helping those in need.

"My dream is to have my own nonprofit where all the funds go toward [those in need]," she said. 

She hopes to sponsor at least one child per month, but her long-term goal is to use her business to sponsor one or two children per week. Fundraising began in August and will run through December. 

New Orleans Cajun Seafood is located at 6168 Arlington Blvd. in the Seven Corners Shopping Center.
