“I instantly fell in love with the art and found it awesome to entertain people by doing the impossible,” Kennerly said. “I remember that one of the first tricks I ever had was where you pushed multiple spikes through a coin which later came out unharmed. I thought it was so cool that such a simple solution could create such a large effect on an audience.”

Kennerly first started his business, Drew Kennerley Magic, in 2010 at the age of 15.

“Before I created my business, I think my family (especially my dad) was a bit skeptical of my aspirations of becoming a full-time magician, but once I started making money with my magic, they saw the potential for magic as a career.”

Kennerly was raised in Fairfax, VA where he attended Robinson Secondary School. He enrolled in drama and business classes to sharpen his performance skills and grow his business.

Kennerly currently studies tourism and event management at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. He is a member of The Society of American Magicians and says he plans to pursue magic as a full-time career.

“It won't be easy to make a living in the performance arts industry, but I am determined to make it work. I believe I am on the right track to making my dreams come true.”
