Matchbox Coming to Mosaic District in April

The popular Washington, D.C. restaurant chain is bringing their wood fired pizzas to Northern Virginia.

Matchbox is the latest restaurant joining the list of eateries already in the Mosaic District.

The restaurant, known for their 3.6.9 mini burgers and wood fired pizzas from their other locations, will open in early April and will be located next to the Angelika Film Center. Matchbox will be the first full-service restaurant to open in the new shopping district.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the Mosaic family,” Ty Neal, principal partner of matchboxfoodgroup, said in a release. “This is a great neighborhood and we are honored to be a part of the growing diverse choices here. This restaurant represents the beginning of what we hope will be a lifelong relationship with the communities in Northern Virginia."

According to the release, the restaurant will be able to seat 220 customers and will have design elements similar to the rustic vintage matchbox style. There will also be a 40-seat patio set to open by mid-Spring.
