Robbery Victim Left With Broken Jaw, Nose

Police investigating two weekend robberies that have not been connected to each other.

Falls Church City Police are investigating two similar weekend robberies that left one man with a broken jaw and nose.

Police have not connected the two robberies and the descriptions of the suspects vary.

Around 4:45 p.m. Saturday, a man had his jaw and nose broken by two men in the 1100 block of S. Washington St., according to a press release. The two men ran off with his backpack.

The first alleged suspect was described as a white male in his 20s with freckles and brownish-red hair, according to the release. The second alleged suspect is described as a black man in his 20s with a baldhead and muscular build.

In a separate incident, two men tried to steal a motorcycle from a man Sunday in the 400 block of E. Broad St. around 11 p.m. Two men approached the victim on a moped as he sat on a retaining wall in front of his home, according to the release. The alleged suspects tried to attack the man but he ran off leaving them trying to start his motorcycle.

When the men couldn’t start the motorcycle they sped off on the moped with the victim’s helmet and shirt.

The alleged suspects in that incident are believed to each be between 20 and 25-years-old, according to the release.

One of the men is described as a black man between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 170 pounds with shoulder length hair. The second alleged suspect is described as a Hispanic man standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 160 pounds, according to the release.
