Five Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 13

It's been a year since Patch launched here in Falls Church!

  1. The Falls Church City Public Schools Board will hold an open meeting at 8:30 p.m. in City Hall. Here is the agenda.
  2. The deadline for the stormwater survey mailed to every City single-family home has been extended to Dec. 20. Instructions for completing the paper or online versions of the survey are included in the mailing. Respondents will need the individual Real Property Code provided in the letter in order to complete either version of the survey.
  3. On this day in 2000, Al Gore concedes presidential election, George W. Bush named president.
  4. On this day in 2010, Falls Church Patch launched.
  5. If today is your birthday, you share it with entertainers Jamie Foxx (44-years-old) and Dick Van Dyke (86-years-old). Happy birthday!
