It's not often we see Feb. 29, so see what happened on this day in history and see who has a birthday today.

  1. Join in the discussion about the Affordable Housing Policy proposed revisions. A community forum at 7 p.m. in the TLC Room of George Mason High School. 
  2. City residents who plan to vote in the Tuesday, March 6 Republican Presidential Primary are reminded to vote in the ward printed on their current Voter Registration Card. The ward changes the Council adopted should be in effect for the May 1 Municipal Election. Voters who need help determining their polling place should contact the City’s Office of Voter Registration and Elections.
  3. On this day in 1968, the National Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders (Kerner Comm) reports against racism and demands aid given to blacks.
  4. On this day in 1972, Hank Aaron becomes first baseball player to sign for $200,000 a year.
  5. If today is your birthday, you share it with entertainer Jeff “Ja Rule” Atkins (36-years-old) and actress Dinah Shore (96-years-old). Happy birthday!
