Polls open early today for Super Tuesday

  1. City residents who plan to vote in the Republican Presidential Primary are reminded to vote in the ward printed on their current Voter Registration Card. The ward changes the Council adopted should be in effect for the May 1 Municipal Election. Voters who need help determining their polling place should contact the City’s Office of Voter Registration and Elections
  2. The 7 p.m. Economic Development Authority meeting at City Hall has been canceled.
  3. On this day in 1922, Babe Ruth signed a 3-year contract with the New York Yankees for $52,000 a season.
  4. On this day in 1981, Walter Cronkite signs-off as anchorman of CBS Evening News.
  5. If today is your birthday, you share it with former Washington, D.C. mayor Marion Barry (76-years-old) and former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal (40-years-old). Happy birthday!
