- George Mason High will play William Monroe High at home for their homecoming at 7:30 p.m.
- Here are some other football games going on tonight: George C. Marshall will play host to Thomas Jefferson High; JEB Stuart will host Wakefield High and Falls Church High will travel to Yorktown. All games begin at 7:30 p.m.
- On this day in 1971, William H. Rehnquist and Lewis F. Powell nominated to U.S. Supreme Court by President Richard Nixon, following the resignations of Justices Hugo Black and John Harlan.
- On this day in 2010, the Union of Myanmar changes its name to Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and changes the design of the national flag.
- If today is your birthday, you share it with Judge Judy (69-years-old) and socialite Kim Kardashian (31-years-old). Happy birthday!
