Time to start the work week

  1. City Council will host a work session at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall in the Dogwood Room. 
  2. Library Story Hour for kids ages 2 to 5-years-old at the Mary Riley Styles Library at 10:30 a.m.
  3. On this day in 1942, Franklin D. Roosevelt forms Office of Economic Stabilization.
  4. On this day in 2010, archaeologists at a site on the Egypt-Gaza border unearth parts of a possible hidden city believed to be over 2,000 years old.
  5. If today is your birthday, you share it with civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton (57-years-old) and inventor of “the twist,” Chubby Checker (70-years-old). Happy birthday!
