  3. After rain cancelled the City of Falls Church’s Public Utility Open House Sept. 24, the city will now hold the event on Oct. 1. Visitors are invited to watch the operations division staff demonstrate the making of water connections, repairing water main pipes under pressure, leak detection techniques and more.
  4. On this day in 2010, Somali pirates seized Indian crewmen and the Panamanian-flagged ship they were sailing off the coast of Tanzania.
  5. If today is your birthday, you share it with actress Fran Drescher (54-years-old) and singer Johnny Mathis (76-years-old). Happy birthday!
