An estimated $320 million Powerball jackpot is at stake during Saturday’s 11 p.m. drawing.
Alan Hussey, economic research manager with Virginia Lottery, said the cash payout would be $198.3 million and the ticket holder would receive $140.8 after taxes.
It was estimated earlier in the week that Virginia would sell $3.6 million in tickets but has actually sold closer to $3.8 million. Tickets are $2 each.
“Things are moving up right now,” Hussey said. “Sales are strong right now.”
Since 2010, there have been four winning tickets sold in Falls Church – two million dollar tickets sold in 2012 in March and August and another $1 million ticket sold in March 2011.
A $250,000 ticket was sold in Falls Church in June 2010 as well.
