Deadline is August 23.

By Ben Joyce

The City of Falls Church Housing and Human Services (HHS) has announced it will once again hold a school supply drive for the upcoming school year.

In 2012, about 25 middle and high school students received items such backpacks, notebooks, pens and personal items such as tissues.

Donations are being accepted through August 23 at the HHS office at City Hall (300 Park Ave., G Level), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

HHS is asking for new (not used), school supplies and items such as hand sanitizer and deodorant, as well as gift cards to stores that sell those supplies. Additionally, monetary donations can be made directly to the School Family Assistance Program.
