According to the AARP website, all Tax-Aide volunteers receive training and must pass three IRS certification exams and an ethics exam.

Taxpayers should expect the process to take up to two hours to complete their returns and bring any W-2 or 1099 forms, last year’s tax returns, a photo ID and all relevant receipts. For more information about other documents to bring, visit the AARP website.
