How to Get Tickets for the National Christmas Tree Lighting 2013

Online lottery for free tickets to ceremony ends Monday morning.

Always wanted to go to the National Christmas Tree Lighting but you didn't have tickets? Now's your chance.

A lottery to get tickets to the National Christmas Tree Lighting started Thursday and ends at 10 a.m. Monday.

Performers for this year's ceremony have not yet been announced.

On Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 the National Park Foundation and National Park Service will present the 91st annual National Christmas Tree Lighting. Nationally known entertainers and a United States military band add to the celebratory evening in which President Obama is invited to light the National Christmas Tree and bring a message of peace to the nation and world.

Here's how to get tickets: Go to the Recreation.gov Web site, click on "Apply for the Lottery" on the righthand side of the page. Only one entry per household. Participants will begin to get notified on Nov. 7.
