Columbia Pike Gas Station Held Up by Knife-Wielding Suspect

Employee tried to stop robbery suspect, police say.

A Columbia Pike gas station was robbed at knifepoint Sunday, according to Fairfax County Police.

The Discount Zone gas station, located in the 6400 block of Columbia Pike, was robbed at 5:16 p.m. Sunday.

A suspect entered the gas station and displayed a knife to an employee. A brief struggle occurred between the suspect and the employee. The suspect took cash and fled. 

The victim was treated on scene for non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was described as a black male, 35-40, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing around 190 pounds.
