Fairfax County Crime Blotter: Police Pursuit in Falls Church Area

A look at Falls Church area incidents reported to the Fairfax County Police Department through Aug. 21.

The following incident information was obtained from the Activity Report provided by Fairfax County Police Department’s Public Information OfficeThe incidents included are at the discretion of the PIO and are not to be considered all-inclusive.

Fairfax County Police logged the following incidents in the Mason Police District, which includes Falls Church and Bailey's Crossroads.

The report contains information for the week that ended Wednesday, Aug. 21. In that time across all of Fairfax County, police reported:

  • 29 charges related to domestic violence
  • 71 charges related to drugs
  • 59 charges related to DWIs.

The following incidents occurred in the greater Falls Church area. Addresses listed indicate block numbers, not necessarily a specific address. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate a conviction.

Narcotics/Pursuit: Barcroft Mews Court/Barcroft Mews Drive, Aug. 19, 2:05 a.m. Officers assisted Virginia State Police officers and Metropolitan Police officers pursuing a vehicle on I495 near Little River Turnpike. Following the vehicle and a short foot pursuit, the driver was apprehended. James Judy, 45, of Winchester, was charged by Fairfax County officers with possession of stolen property, cocaine, and marijuana, and resisting arrest.

Pursuit: Glen Forest Drive/Leesburg Pike, Aug. 20, 12:20 a.m. An officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Crossroads Shopping Center. The vehicle allegedly sped away. Officers pursued and the vehicle crashed on Patrick Henry Drive near Leesburg Pike. No one was injured. The 17-year-old male driver was taken into custody and charged with DWI and driving while revoked. Additional charges are pending.

Brandishing: 3300 block of Glen Carlyn Drive, Aug. 21, 12:25 p.m. A 41-year-old man entered into a verbal discussion with another man. The suspect, described as black, approximately 60-years-old, pointed a handgun at the victim. The suspect fled and no one was injured.
