Fairfax County Police Looking for Group of Eyewear Thieves

Police believe four county cases are connected to other similar cases in Maryland.

Fairfax County police are looking for the individuals who have several pairs of high-end glasses frames from eyewear stores in Falls Church, Great Falls and Alexandria.

Police said the alleged suspects have stolen more than 15 pairs of frames since July with the most recent robbery on Nov. 10. That day, six pairs or glasses were stolen from For Eyes in the 6200 block of Little River Turnpike in Alexandria, police said.

On July 6, a total of seven pair of glasses were stolen from two Falls Church eyewear stores. Police said six pair were stolen from and one pair from True Vision in the 6600 block of Arlington Blvd.

Days later on July 11, the alleged suspects stole four pair of glasses from Great Falls Eye Center in the 9900 block of Georgetown Pike.

Police said that in the incidents, at least two alleged suspects enter the store. One alleged suspect distracts the employee while the other suspect conceals the eyewear. In one case the alleged suspect concealed one pair of expensive glasses and replaced them with an inexpensive pair.

County police believe at least four suspects are involved in these thefts. Police also believe these cases are connected to a string of similar thefts occurring in Montgomery County, Md.

The suspects are described as two men and two women. The first male suspect is described as black and middle-aged. He is tall with a thin build and wears glasses. He is wearing a red and white striped shirt in some of the photos. The first female suspect is described as black, heavy-set and 40 to 60 years old. The other male and female suspects are black.
