Falls Church Bank Robberies Allegedly Connected to Burke Robberies

Police believe this man is connected to multiple robberies between the two towns.

Fairfax County police believe the man who robbed a SunTrust Bank in Burke Saturday is connected to two July bank robberies in Falls Church.

County police responded for the report of a robbery at a Burke SunTrust Bank on Saturday shortly after 10 a.m.

According to police, a man entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded money. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries.

Detectives believe this same individual is responsible for a robbery at the same SunTrust Bank on Aug. 17. Detectives also believe this suspect may be responsible for two other bank robberies at the BB&T Bank at 6120 Arlington Boulevard, in Falls Church. The first robbery occurred on July 12 and the second on .

The suspect was described as black, in his 30’s or 40s. He was about 5 feet 7 inches tall and between 160 and 180 pounds. He was wearing blue pants with white stripes down the sides, a blue, hooded sweatshirt, a black ball cap, dark glasses and a surgical mask.
