Falls Church Crime Report: April 26 to May 2

Police officer assaulted; graffiti incidents and thefts from cars reported.

Here is the crime report from the City of Falls Church Police for the time period of April 26 through May 2:

David A. Sawyer, 48, of Richmond, was arrested for assaulting a police officer, driving under the influence, and refusal to submit to a breath or blood test. At 11:59 p.m. April 29, an officer observed a vehicle crash into a barrier in the 100 block of East Broad Street.  While the officer was investigating the crash, the driver punched the officer in the face.

Hoang Loi N. Nguyen, 35, of Fairfax, was arrested for trespassing and public drunkenness in the 6700 block of Wilson Blvd. (Eden Center) on April 26, 1:44 a.m. An officer observed a suspicious man in the parking lot. The identified man was intoxicated and previously banned from the Eden Center.

Northern Virginia AIDS Ministry, 803 W. Broad St. #700, reported on April 26, 1:15 p.m., its bank account was fraudulently used.

Officers responded to Rex Day Spa, 442 S. Washington St., on April 26, at 5:46 p.m., for a report of a stolen wallet with cash and credit cards that had just occurred.  Officers immediately found the suspect and were able to recover the credit cards. Nichole E. Richards, 25, of Altamonte Springs, FL, was arrested for credit card theft.

Hillwood Mart, 100 Hillwood Ave., reported on April 26, at 8:41 p.m., that an unknown male pumped $54 worth of gasoline into his vehicle without paying.

Jose M. Aguilar Escalante, 20, of Gaithersburg, MD, was arrested on Apri. 26, at 11:08 p.m., for driving after illegally consuming alcohol and driving without a valid license. He was arrested after an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Roosevelt Boulevard.

Corey C. Lennon, 20, of the City of Falls Church, was arrested for a noise violation in the 300 block of Little Falls Street on April 27, at 1:09 a.m. An officer verbally warned the man of the noise violation. When the officer checked the area 20 minutes later, the man failed to comply.

At 8:25 a.m., April 27, a man on the 2oo block of North Maple Avenue reported that sometime overnight the window to his vehicle was pried from the door frame. No items were taken but the vehicle was found in disarray.

At 8:57 a.m., April 27, a man on the 100 block Great Falls Street reported his vehicle had been damaged and his car radio/CD player was stolen.  The vehicle was parked unattended for the past week.

At 6:27 p.m., April 27, a woman on 100 block West Annandale Road reported her car radio/CD player was stolen from her unlocked vehicle sometime between April 24 and 27.

Howie H. Tran, 36, of Falls Church, was arrested 10:28 p.m., April 28, for driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a breath or blood test and driving with a suspended license. An officer responded to the 800 block of South Washington Street on a complaint of an impaired driver. The officer observed the driver commit a motor vehicle violation. 

A 17 year-old male of the City of Falls Church was arrested at 7:30 a.m. April 29 in 300 block of North Cherry Street for possession of marijuana. An officer observed him smoking marijuana. 

At 10:34 a.m. April 29, Coleman PowerSports, 435 S. Washington St., reported a motorized scooter was stolen from the service area sometime between April 14 and 16.

At 11:55 a.m., a man reported his black and brown four-wheel trailer was stolen from the parking lot at 131 E. Broad St. between 1 and 3 p.m. on Apr 28.

Nam N. Nguyen, 55, of Fairfax, was charged with smoking tobacco products in a non-designated area at 3:47 p.m. April 29, in Café Vy, 6779 Wilson Blvd. #16.

Thanh T. Tran, 46, of Falls Church, was charged with smoking tobacco products in a non-designated area at 4 p.m. April 29, in Le Mirage Café, 6757 Wilson Blvd. #16.

Tuan A. Tran, 59, of Sterling, was charged with smoking tobacco products in a non-designated area, at 4:13 p.m. April 29 at Café Gio, 6795 Wilson Blvd. #2.

Vu P. Lam, 40, of Annandale, was charged with smoking tobacco products in a non-designated area, at 4:50 p.m. April 29, at Le Mirage Café, 6757 Wilson Blvd. #16.

Ernest A. Jaramillo Jr., 28, of Haymarket, was arrested for public drunkenness. At 10:15 p.m., April 30, an officer observed an intoxicated man on the sidewalk, at 220 N. Washington St. (State Theater). 

Eduardo S. Ore Jimenez, 26, of Falls Church was arrested at 12:21 a.m. May 1 in the 300 block of West Broad Street for driving under the influence.

A woman on the 300 block of Timber Lane reported at 2 a.m. May 1, that graffiti was sprayed on her fence sometime between 12:30 and 1:30 a.m.

Nori Yahoska, 20, and Yonis L. Barahona, 19, both of Falls Church, were arrested 2:31 a.m., May 1, for underage possession of alcohol in the 400 block of Timber Lane. On an officer observed suspicious activity in a vehicle.

At 12:34 p.m. May 1, a man on the 700 block of Timber Lane reported graffiti painted on his vehicle overnight.

Santos B. Ayala, 38, of Annandale was arrested at 3:23 p.m. May 1 for public drunkenness at 7-Eleven at 110 N. West St.
