Rite Aid Employees Hurt During Attempted Shoplifting

The following incident and arrest information was supplied by the Falls Church police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two Rite Aid employees were injured after an alleged shoplifting suspect hit them during a melee inside the Falls Church pharmacy in the 1000 block of W. Broad St.

Latoya N. Carter, 31, of Waldorf, MD, was charged with two counts of assault and battery and shoplifting on Oct. 4.

Police said at some point during the alleged theft, Carter hit the two employees after they confronted her for shoplifting.

Jeffrey A. Ogutu, of no fixed address, was charged with public drunkenness, obstruction of justice and littering in the 6700 block of Wilson Blvd. on Oct. 6.

Edwin A. Perez Alvarado, 22, of Fairfax, was charged with public drunkenness and resisting arrest in the 6700 block of Wilson Blvd. on Oct. 7.

Henry O. Hernandez, 33, of Falls Church, was charged with urinating in public in the 300 block of Hillwood Ave. on Oct. 7.

Monica Rodriguez, 31, of the City of Falls Church, was charged with assaulting a family member in the 900 block of Ellison St. on Oct. 8.
