Falls Church Police Investigating Second Abduction Attempt

Police don't believe the two incidents are connected.

For the second time in about a week, City of Falls Church police are investigating a second alleged attempted abduction.

About 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, a man in a dusty blue sedan allegedly approached a girl walking along the 900 block of Park Ave. The man inside the car allegedly asked the girl “Are you going up there?”

Police said the girl shook her head no and the man asked her a second time if she wanted to get in the car with him. The man then sped off, police said.

Police received a report of another alleged near the high school. The 16-year-old girl alleged a man followed her in a white van and after a while, exited the vehicle and walked briskly toward her before she acted like she was on the phone causing the man the flee.

Amy Betor, a spokeswoman for the city, said police do not believe the two incidents are connected.

Police want citizens to immediately contact them at 703-248-5053 if they encounter any suspicious persons or situations. Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call police at the same number.
