Standoff: Five Things You Need to Know Today

If you're displaced by the police standoff in the City of Falls Church, here's some things you need to know.

1Update - 2:05 p.m. - Police are no longer allowing residents of Hillwood Avenue between Cherry and Roosevelt streets into the area at all. Residents are advised to make back-up accomodation plans for tonight in case the situation is not resolved by nightfall.

Earlier today, evacuated residents who needed to get back into their homes for medicines or a change of clothes were able to call City of Falls Church police dispatch at 703-241-5053 to make arrangements. That is no longer the case.

2 - Hillwood Avenue is closed from Cherry Street to S. Roosevelt Street due to the standoff (see map at right).
