Fundraiser for Mason District Officer Dinh Set for Sunday in Fairfax

Mason District Station Officer Long "Junior" V. Dinh was injured in a head-on car crash in February.

The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 77 will host a fundraising event Sunday for Mason District Officer Long V. Dinh Jr.'s rehabilitation fund.

Dinh was injured in a head-on collision crash in February and was hospitalized for most of last month.

All are welcome to attend the fundraiser, which will be Sunday at Hard Times Cafe located at 4069 Chain Bridge Road, in Fairfax from noon to 7 p.m. There will be food specials and a raffle during the event. Hard Times will donate a portion of the night's sales to Dinh and his family.

According to a post on Reddit by Braddock District Supervisor John Cook, Dinh was raised in Springfield and graduated from George Mason University. Cook, who plans to attend the fundraiser, has been asking community members to spread awareness about the fundraiser through social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #DonateforDinh.

Those who can't attend the fundraiser, can make donations directly to the fund through the PayPal account on Lodge 77's website www.fairfaxlodge77.com.
