An Alexandria elementary school teacher charged with possession of child pornography allegedly had a history of producing child pornography and collecting young girls' underwear at the school where he worked, according to a statement made by federal agents.

Justin Coleman, a 35-year-old dual language teacher at John Adams Elementary School in Alexandria, was arrested Wednesday on charges of possessing child pornography. Coleman's arrest came after a lengthy investigation into a child pornography website that began in March 2010, according to an affidavit posted online by the Washington Examiner.

The affidavit also claims Coleman feared his desires and his job would come into conflict.

After executing a search warrant on the site, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents discovered that an IP address they would later connect to Coleman had accessed child pornography featuring under-age girls. ICE agents began researching Coleman, according to the affidavit.

After learning that Coleman was a fourth-grade teacher at John Adams Elementary last month, a Fairfax County detective and ICE agents searched his home in Falls Church.

During the search, agents interviewed Coleman. According to affidavit, filed by ICE agent Kim Kroemeke, Coleman told law enforcement officers he "downloads what interests him," saying he was especially interested in girls between 5 and 12 years-old.

During the interview, according to court papers, Coleman was wearing a kilt meant to be worn at a theme day at John Adams. Coleman allegedly told ICE agents he had child pornography, then produced an external hide drive from within a pouch worn with the kilt.

ICE agents allegedly later found several videos and pictures featuring child pornography on the drive, including a video featuring a girl identified by the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children's database as a victim of child pornography.

Agents searching Coleman's room also found pairs of underwear that ICE agent Kroemeke believed were meant for young girls, according to Kroemeke. Coleman allegedly told agents he bought the underwear and used them for personal sexual grafitication.

In his interview with ICE agents, Coleman revealed other predilections for young girls, according to the affidavit. Coleman allegedly told agents he had spied on a young girl, who is now nine years-old, as she changed, although the document does not specify where this occurred.

The affidavit portrays Coleman as anguished about his position at work. According to the affidavit, he told ICE agents "that there was a 'Justin at home and a Justin at work.' He furthered that he was afraid 'they will mesh together."

On Wednesday evening, ICE agents saw Coleman driving his car and arrested him. During the arrest, they discovered he had a pair of underwear in his pocket that ICE agent Kroemeke believed were meant for a young girl.

After his arrest, the affidavit states, Coleman said he had videotaped a three-year-old child touching Coleman's penis. He also said the girl's underwear found at his home was actually taken from a backpack he found at John Adams Elementary, and that he had obtained underwear from a young Russian girl he met through an international program, according to Kroemeke's testimony.
