Man Arrested for Threatening Falls Church Cop

City of Falls Church police arrested a man they say wanted revenge on an officer and wanted to kill.

Oscar H. Cabrera Cruz, 23, of no fixed address, was charged with public drunkenness in the 6700 block of Wilson Blvd. on Aug. 12. Officer James Brooks said when police found Cabrera Cruz, he was looking through the windows of police cars in the area.

Brooks said Cabrera Cruz was looking for a Falls Church police officer that arrested him in the past.

The man allegedly made threats to kill the officer, Brooks said. Cabrera Cruz was also charged with stalking and obstruction of justice.

Apparently Cabrera Cruz was also charged with public drunkenness in the 6700 block of Wilson Blvd. on Aug. 4.

Brooks said he is being held at the Arlington County Adult Detention Center without bond. Here are some other crimes city police are investigating:

Jose B. Lazo, 44, of Annandale, was charged with public drunkenness in the 300 block of S. Washington St. on July 31.

Kevin V. Le, 37, of Manassas, was charged with public drunkenness in the 6700 block of Wilson Blvd. on Aug. 1.

Donita J. Bullock, 48, of the City of Falls Church, was charged with public drunkenness in the 300 block of Shirley St. on Aug. 2.

Monet G. Pridgen, 32, of Arlington, was charged with public drunkenness in the 100 block of W. Broad St. on Aug. 2.

City of Falls Church police are investigating a report of a theft from a business in the 900 block of W. Broad St. on Aug. 3. On Aug. 3, an unknown suspect fraudulently posed as a contractor for the landlord and stole cash from an unattended wallet.  The suspect was described as a Black male in his 50s, approximately 5’7" tall, weighing 150 pounds. The suspect was seen wearing a uniform-like blue striped shirt, blue pants, and blue ball cap with black and grey hair. The subject had his mouth covered with a blue medical mask.

City of Falls Church police are investigating a report of vandalism to a vehicle in the 500 block of W. Broad St. on Aug. 3.

Christopher Mitchell, 29, of Alexandria and Buddy D. Green, 25, of Staten Island, N.Y., were charged with possession of marijuana in the 300 block of W. Broad St. on Aug. 4. Police also charged Green with unlawful possession of controlled substances. Alex S. Johnson, 21, of Washington, D.C. and Joey Megal, 21, of Fairfax, were also charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Anthony H. Nguyen, 37, of no fixed address, was charged with public drunkenness in the 6700 block of Wilson Blvd. on Aug. 4.

Michael P. Keating, 50, of the City of Falls Church, was charged with driving under the influence in the 600 block of S. Washington St. on Aug. 5.

Phung V. Truong, 39, of Alexandria, was charged with public drunkenness in the 6700 block of Wilson Blvd. on Aug. 5.

City of Falls Church police are investigating a report of vandalism to a vehicle in the 400 block of E. Jefferson St. on Aug. 5.

City of Falls Church police are investigating a report of vandalism to a vehicle in the 900 block of Park Ave. on Aug. 5.

City of Falls Church police are investigating a report of a stolen iPhone from a building in the 6700 block of Wilson Blvd. on Aug. 5.

A 16-year-old male, of Arlington, was charged with underage possession of alcohol in the 200 block of Noland St. on Aug. 6.

Marlon E. Lizama Escalante, 30, of Falls Church, was charged with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a blood or breath test in the 600 block of Hillwood Ave. on Aug. 7.

City of Falls Church police are investigating a report of a stolen delivery package from an apartment in the 200 block of E. Fairfax St. on Aug. 7.

David P. Dickson, 29, of Gaithersburg, Md., was charged with public drunkenness in the 1200 block of W. Broad St. on Aug. 9.

City of Falls Church police are investigating a report of a residential burglary in the 400 block of W. Rosemary Le. On Aug. 10.

A 17-year-old male, of McLean, was charged with underage possession of alcohol and possession of a fake ID, in the 1200 block of W. Broad St. on Aug. 10.

City of Falls Church police are investigating a report of vandalism to a vehicle in the 200 block of Midvale St. on Aug. 11.

Douglas Burkel, 45, of no fixed address, was charged with public drunkenness and drinking in public in the 100 block of S. Washington St. on Aug. 11.

Sahil Mehra, 23, of Falls Church, was charged with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a blood or breath test in the 100 block of S. Washington St. on Aug. 12.

Andrew D. Jett, 24, of Falls Church, was charged with public drunkenness in the 100 block of S. Washington St. on Aug. 12.

Venkatchalam Dineshkumar, 26, of Columbia, Md., was charged with stalking in the 1000 block of W. Broad St. on Aug. 12.
