National Night Out Events in and Around Falls Church

Police and residents get to know each other at national event

Starting at 3 p.m., Fairfax County Police will be serving pizza and light snacks at the at 2854 Annandale Rd. as part of several National Night Out celebrations in and around Falls Church. The event will go until 6 p.m.

National Night Out (NNO), sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, is an organized evening where community and civic organizations, local police departments and residents take to the streets in a stand against violence and crime. Many groups order pizza or barbecue and discuss local issues, particularly pertaining to crime and crime prevention in their communities.

According to Fairfax County police, the goals of National Night Out are to strengthen community connections within neighborhoods and to heighten awareness of crime prevention issues.

Here are some other locations for National Night Out near Falls Church:

-       Pimmit Hills (1932 Hileman Rd.): There will be an ice cream social between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

-       Skyline House (3711 S. George Mason Drive): There will be an ice cream social between 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
