New Police Car Joins Falls Church Fleet

The department's new 2013 Ford Police Inceptor will be the only car in the city's fleet with a traditional black and white paint job.

If you get pulled over by a police car that doesn't look like other Falls Church police vehicles, don't be confused—it's the newest cruiser to the Falls Church Police Department's fleet.

The department will unveil its 2013 Ford Police Interceptor sedan at the Falls Church Farmer’s Market Saturday outside City Hall. Susan Finarelli, spokeswoman for the city, said the new cruiser is the only new one so far and it cost about $38,000 which also included the vehicle’s equipment. On average, patrol cars have a life span of four years, Finarelli said.

“We’re not going to paint the old ones to look like the new cruiser,” Finarelli said.
